How to Shine in Interviews and How to Coach Others to Shine!

Our February meeting will feature a panel of professionals with diverse experience preparing and coaching people for interviews. They will share tips and talk about current trends in interviewing. Bring your toughest questions for our panelists. Allan Hay will moderate the discussion and audience participation is encouraged!

Our panel will also discuss:
  • Latest trends in interview questions
  • Assessing your audience
  • Communicating your value with power and clarity
The Interviewing Panel will take place at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, located at 8236 SE 24th St. The event is free for PSCDA members and $10 for nonmembers.



Emily Bomar works as the Campus Programs Manager at CampusPoint-Seattle. She focuses on recruiting current college students into paid internships and recent college graduates into full time career positions with local employers in the Pacific Northwest. Emily's background includes being a Campus Liaison for the Target Corporation at the University of Washington campus and then Logistics Executive at Target.

In addition to being a trial attorney for Hardwick & Pendergast, Lisa Voso of The Voso Impact has been a communications trainer for more than 10 years. She specializes in corporate communications training, coaching and public speaking and is known for producing immediate results. Both professionals and students enjoy Lisa‘s lively yet practical presentations and often recommend her communications classes to their peers. She regularly teaches a class called undefinedCommunicating Between the Generations‖ and she is currently working on a book on the subject.

Tom Washington is the founder of Career Management Resources (1980), a Bellevuebased career development and outplacement firm. He holds an MA in counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. He is the author of Interview Power: Selling Yourself Face to Face, as well as two interviewing videos, You've Graduated...What Now? and Interview Power (DVD). In combination these resources prepare job seekers for almost anything they can face in the interview. His interviewing work emphasizes the art of selling strengths through the use of specific and vivid examples.
