Washington Career Development Association
WCDA will sponsor an FCD (Facilitating Career Development) training course beginning in January 2023. This course covers the 12 NCDA competencies (https://ncda.org/aws/NCDA/asset_manager/get_file/631290?ver=0º); primary skills and knowledge important for career development practitioners. Completion of the course fulfills training requirements for GCDF (CCE)and CCSP (NCDA) certification as well as providing preparation for the assessment portion for other NCDA credentials.
NCDA certified FCD instructors are required to charge at least $975 for the course. However, because of this one-time agreement with WCDA, the price will be $475 for WCDA members only (and new members are welcomed!). Participants will also need to purchase a copy of Facilitating Career Development, Student Manual, Revised 4th Edition through NCDA (currently $275 at https://ncda.org/aws/NCDA/pt/sp/store ) prior to the beginning of the course.
Twenty-four hours of face-to-face instruction will be provided virtually to complete requirements for the FCD Certificate of Completion. Tentative plans are for 90-minute weekly classes (16 to 18 weeks) beginning in January, but final decisions will be made based on a survey of interested participants. Interested WCDA members should indicate their interest by clicking on this link. Actual registration for the course will begin mid-December.
Questions may be sent to the instructors, Dr. Kate Duttro email@example.com (UW, retired) and/or Dr. Chuck Zimchek (CWU) firstname.lastname@example.org .
