  • How can we facilitate veterans’ transitions from a military culture to the civilian world?
  • How can we assist them in describing their knowledge and skill sets and military experiences to people who have never been there?
  • How might we remove the stigma of “seeking help” from the belief systems of today’s veterans?

These are a few of the important questions guaranteed to create a lively discussion at this month’s meeting.

Cal Crow is a co-founder of PSCDA, a trainer for the Veterans Training Support Center at Edmonds Community College, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the NCDA Veterans Task Force. He is particularly interested in applying efficacy and resiliency research when working with veterans who have trauma-related experiences. Cal strongly believes that the growing body of knowledge in positive psychology can be used to assist veterans, and has incorporated this into his current work.

  • Where: Mercer Island Community & Event Center, located at 8236 SE 24th St., Mercer Island.
  • Cost: Free for PSCDA members and $10 for non-members. Sandwiches and snacks will be provided. Donations of $5 to contribute towards the snack fund will be accepted.
