Puget Sound Career Development Association

June 6th - 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Our topic this month focuses on how we can support our clients or ourselves by using social media as part of a job search strategy. PSCDA member Paula Fitzgerald Boos, Executive and Career Coach of PFB Enterprises, and Asia Rau Vinton, Owner and Events Director of Sparrow Soirees, will join us!

Paula Fitzgerald Boos,
calls herself the “Unlikely Evangelist” for LinkedIn because of her belief in the importance and value of face-to-face conversations. She has been teaching how to use LinkedIn to build relationships for over five years. With a background in technology, recruiting, and outplacement, and a current practice focused on helping her clients achieve greater success and satisfaction in work and in transitions, Paula is passionate about building and maintaining positive professional relationships.

Social media, and LinkedIn specifically, is a powerful tool you can use to use to build great relationships and your personal brand in today’s marketplace. If you are not proactive, you are making a loud statement. Bring your laptops to make some quick changes and be proactive in building your brand.

You can learn more about Paula on LinkedIn.

Asia Rau Vinton, owner of Sparrow Soirées, will talk about creating a well-rounded personal brand and community through social media. As we all know, social media is ever-evolving and rather than chasing every new option popping up, she’ll help us navigate the three main social media avenues – Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest – with graceful professionalism.

Asia has 17 years of event planning and management experience, including working at Avid Events, University of Washington Alumni Association, Downtown Seattle Association, and Lifelong AIDS Alliance. She created Sparrow Soirées in 2012 on the belief a well-executed event partnered with solid marketing creates an incredible experience for all involved. Asia’s passion for event planning comes from working alongside her clients and partners through the creative process to plan memorable programs and events.
